Is it possible to create an 'autocue' text scrolling effect which will run seamlessly over two or three pages of plain text?

Not sure what you mean. Might help to explain a bit more. Are looking for how to initiate or control scrolling, or do you want something to focus the eye on a pair of lines as it scrolls?

ps. Question posed here in Basic section assumes you want to achieve the effects without scripting. Please provide at least what version of Opus app you use... if a thing can be done but only with scripting, Forum contributors will point you in right direction if they know what capability you have in Opus.

I need to create a video 'autocue' facility, where a person being filmed can read their script from text which is automatically scrolling on laptop screen, generated from opus. I am currently using the new version 6 which I find to be excellent and I am sure it must be well able to do this.

A quick auto cue can be done in Opus using a text object and an animation action 'move vertical' Depending on how much text you have, it may get jerky. The boundry box for the text needs to be the full length of the text and positioned at the bottom of the page (use ctrl key to move object off page). Select an 'on show' trigger and animation action 'move vertical'. In the animation action window, you need to set the distance to move (top right corner to -????, where ???? is the length of the text box and using the negative sign, because it's going up.

Opus already has an action to do this - its called scroll under the text actions. To make it work automatically add a ticker trigger for your desired scroll speed and then simply add the scroll down line action for your text box.

You can then simply type your text into a normal rtf file and Opus will smoothly autocue scroll it one line at a time.
