Does your PC take ages to shut down?

My laptop (XP) would take about five minutes to shut down, so after doing a bit of research I found the "User Profile Hive Cleanup Service" from Microsoft. I gave it a try and it worked!! now takes about 30 seconds to shut down.

As always--you have to be careful with anything like this, but in my case it was very effective!!

I was having problems similar to yours.

I installed the app and now they are gone

Great!!!

When you read the documentation, it tends to imply it's for roaming profiles etc, but I guess if you have a PC with more than one profile--I have myself and a guest profile, so it seems to work on that as well...makes a big difference :-)
