1. I Create 6 pages interactive projects with video file (AVI) inside each page (the video size is very big 1.8 GB) when i publish the project to standalone publication, an error message come out (Cannot save file Z:\CompanyProfile\XGA.ilm : "An attempt was made to move the file pointer before the beginning of the file"). But if i use smaller size video file i can publish it. Please tell me how to solve this problem if i still want to use big size video file.

PLEASE ADVISE !!!

2. Can i publish to a standalone publication, if my video not in AVI format but i use Quick Time (MOV) ?

PLEASE ADVISE !!!

For your information I choose Opus Professional In Publication Properties

I'm Using Opus Prof. Version 6

Thanks

I seem to remember (I could be wrong) from somewhere there is a 2GB limit each application can have in the virtual address space of a 32bit OS like XP.
I know that a lot of people have problems when files of any type reach 2Gb in size. I was told recently that Access MDB files have a 2Gb limit.
Someone else will probably have more experience with large files than I have and have a different opinion.

Paul

Thanks Paul,

My PC Configuration is :

Ms Win XP Professional with Service Pack 2, HP Computer XW9400 Workstation Dual Core AMD Opteron 2 GHz, with 4 GB RAM, w/Matrox Axio LE inside.

I'm using my computer to create video editing and composition, some of my video file size is arround 13 GB, the small one is about 1.2 GB and all this time i never have problem to use adobe premier and after effects to create big size file (i mean with above PC configuration).

If possible i hope you, anyone or the administrator can help me.

Thanks
Avid

Your project will be too large to fit onto a standard CD-ROM (700MB limit), so you will have to use a data DVD, which means you must have DVD capability (at least on the computer which is creating your project).

I recommend converting your AVI files to MPEG-2 which is DVD quality. These compressed files will be much smaller than uncompressed AVI files, so it should solve your problem. Computers which would then view your Pub must be DVD capable.

Why not just use Premier and create a menued DVD? Why do you need OPUS?

Turn off video embedding in the publish settings. This will keep the videos as individual files and you will not have the problem with the file becoming oo large.

Dear Demofred,

Many Thx for your reply,
1. Yes, my planning is to install and run the projects from NoteBook or PC, not run directly from CDROM, so i do not have problem if i distribute in many cd or dvd.

2. Opus ? Because i making the interactive projects not to created dvd menu and I need people touch to my touch screen monitor and my projects resolution is SXGA with the PAL D1 (720 x 576) video on each page.

3. I try to make in MPEG and other format, but I thinks for 6 video file with the PAL D1 resolution with 15 mins length, the capacity should be above 2 GB, except i compress it to downgrade the color and resolution.

Dear Duncan,

Many thx for your information, but my problem is :
HOW TO MAKE A STANDALONE PUBLICATION (I NEED TO HIDE MY VIDEO FILES WHEN I DISTRIBUTE IT) IF MY PROJECTS ARE BIGGER THAN 2 GB.

Thanks for all your support,

1. For Now Can I Get a Confirmation from "Opus" (Administrator) wheter it can or cannot to publish to standalone if my projects (including the sound and video) is bigger than 2 GB.

2. I Still waiting for comment that can help me.

The 2gb filesize limit is fundamental to the internal workings of Opus (and many other programs, including large chunks of Windows itself) - working around it would be potentially risky and difficult. We will look into it but it's not something we can readily change.

I'd suggest using the XviD codec to encode your videos - you can have almost DVD quality in much smaller files. Maybe that will make your publication small enough.

The only other suggestion would be to make you publication several linked publications that launch each other as necessary, and keep each one under the 2gb limit.

Dear Duncan Lily,

Thx for your reply. This is the exact answer i'm waiting...! Can or Cannot, because i need the certain answer.

Now i know how to solve my problem (I Created the compress Sequence files and import as slideshow). Thx

Note : Just download the Xvid Codec, will try it to night and will let you know ASAP.

Another question is :

Now i'm creating the MPEG2 Files (*.mpg) from adobe after effects using common Pal D1 (720 x 576) size :-), but every time the Opus Pro V6 Hang when i load the video to the Opus editor.

(FYI : The *.mpg files play ok in Windows Media Player and The Preview From Opus Video Properties)

Thanks
