Hi

Having seen some very nice examples of the new drawing tool and wanting to adapt its use to one of my pubs that draws family pedigrees, I wondered if anyone has tried to:

(1) script erasing or applying an "undo" to a single drawn line or shape, rather than erasing/clearing all drawn lines at once. I would like to figure out how to give the user the ability to change or correct "mistakes."

(2) script getting the name of any line or shape drawn, its display properties (pos x, pos y, color, height, width, transparency, etc.), so these can then be saved and re-drawn upon rebooting the program screen (saving and re-loading scripts needed also).

Any help would be appreciated.

Kind Regards,

Hi Stephen,

I too have been looking at the drawing tools but I don't think you can get properies of drawn lines / shapes only the frame that they are drawn in. However, if you look at this backwards, you can record the properties as you set them. I've uploaded a simple plexus publication of what I've achieved so far, but had to pause due to other projects.

See click n sketch under iZones on my site.

Thanks, Mack

I'll take a look.

My sense is that any object that is created must have a unique identifying name. But, getting it's display properties may be something beyond what can be done.

I'm even less optimistic about erasing a line already drawn. Without this ability, the user is left with leaving mistakes or erasing everything and starting over: not great choices!

But, let's see what is possible. Maybe DW over time will add functionality to (or develop an extra plugin at additional cost for) this very promising tool. :)

Kind Regards,
