I have several programs I would like to place on a cd so people can launch the setup program they choose from a menu. I am trying to create it where people can just click on a button and launch the setup program of their choice from the CD. The problem is this... When you click on the button to launch a setup program it does nothing, however, using the same exact command the button will open anything else, like a normal exe file. Does anyone know of anything in Opus that would prevent a setup file from opening from a launch command? The button will not even launch the setup file while testing it on my computer, but it will open any other type program.

We have a new GET TOUGH policy on this Forum. You haven't given us the required information we need like, which version of OPUS are you using, what type of computer, your Operating System.

Give us the mandatory information, and we'll give you the answer...

Hi Denn,

Have just tested this and running from from my HD, it launches an MSI installation file without problems.

Can you send some more information or the IMP and I'll take a peek.

Mack

Mack,
Good talking with you again and thanks for taking the time to look at this. It is really strange and I've never run into this before. I'm attaching the .imp file and if you need anything else just let me know.

This will help me alot if I can get it to work. I'm trying to release a CD Menu program so people can install my programs on their computers. Again... I can get the menu program to launch any file with the exception of a setup/installation type file.
Thanks again
Denn

I finally found the problem. I had a .(dot)/(period) within the file name. Though it would open on my hd when I would double click it, Opus will not open it if it has a dot within the name. I was using it like this...

pd-BaseV2.3-NewSetup.exe
As you can see there is a dot between 2 and 3. I changed that to this...

pd-BaseV2-3-NewSetup.exe
replacing the dot with a dash.

I'll try not to do stupid things in the future.
