Original post:
Hello,
I've got the following script set for when the user left-clicks a hyperlink:

ChangeDisplayMode( 2 )

It does do what it's supposed to do, changes the display mode to 1024x768. However, it also minimizes my pub and it can't be restored.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Update:
After testing a pub that Mack made for me, I realized it's not minimizing my pub; it's shifting it off screen to the right. Resizing the pub manually does not cause this behavior.

Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike,

Quickly checked this in XP and Vista (U) and worked as expected in both. I've included the IMP for you to compare.

Mack

P.S I'd post some hardware / software details to help :-)

Mac, thanks very much for preparing that for me. It did work, but shifted your pub to the right and down, which made me think that's what was happening to my cue card. You see, my cue card pub is only 200x600 and opens at 100% and 0% (upper right hand corner of the screen).

So, I ran my cue card pub again, dragged it to the middle of the screen and then clicked the link to change the display mode. The Cue Card was still visible this time. So, that tells me what is happening.

However, if I change the screen resolution manually (through display settings), it doesn't force my pub off screen.

By the way, I use Opus Pro v. 5.5.

Hardware: 1 Gb RAM, Video card - Nvidia GeForce Fx 5200

I've changed the title of this thread to reflect the true problem.

Thanks,
Mike

Yea, this is an odd thing - I assumed that it was my graphics drivers or multi-monitor software but as your's NVidia and mine is ATI - I'm now guessing XP.

I'd have said Opus - but it works in Vista on the same machine - go figure :-)

Anyway, good news, it should be fine when published just not previewed.

Mack, I appreciate you working on this for me.

For me, it does exhibit the same behavior when published. Oh well, I'll just have the user change the screen res manually.

There might be a DLL that does this...but you'll get the idea.

The program is compiled from free source code so you can use it in you distros.

The parameters are x,y, colour depth, frequency

Mack, do you know what numbers I should enter as parameter values for color depth and frequency if I don't want to change those?

Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike,

The colour depth is likely to be 32 for XP+ or 24 for 95-98 (you can use the built in variables to check the OS in needed.

The frequency is tricky as it depends on the monitor but I think 60 is 'normal' for TFTs at least that's what all mine run on.
