I find I am having to use Ctrl+Alt+launch often now. And I am tiring of losing my Custom Settings... the simple layout of toolbars, tools, and such.

I'd like to see a utility that could save and later restore these settings. Ideally save more than one set... just in case.

If some event corrupts a pub or the program and a reinstall, or repair install, or the Ctrl+Alt trick is needed... would help to RELOAD at least SOME of the customizations.

I've been doing it for years by exporting the DW registry keys as a .reg file.
Then, whenever I reinstall Opus, I just run my opus.reg file to return Opus to my custom setup.
If you installed Opus to "Current User Only", the key to export is HKEY_CURRENT_USER/software/Digital Workshop.

Right click on the Digital Workshop Key and export it as a registration (.reg) file.

I'm assuming you are familiar with editing inside the Registry and exporting Registry keys.

Paul,
Thanks, I'll have to look into that.

I try to stay out of the Registry. I also avoid taking out my own appendix.

Would it be possible to create a couple Opus pubs to automate that? I assume they'd have to be EXEs, and Opus editor would have to not be running. Or is that impractical effort for amateur scripting skills?

You could automate it with an Opus pub -- but it's probably safer to export the "Digital Workshop" key as a reg file, then import it again when required just by double clicking it.
Maybe in the future DW could add a way to save custom settings in Opus.
