I have been using Opus Presenter for two years  and want to upgrade to an Opus package that will also allow me to insert video footage (with sound) into a presentation for saving on CD or DVD. which upgrade would you suggest ?
Many thanks JPM

Hi,

Thank you for your enquiry.

Your current version of Opus Presenter should allow you to play video files (with audio) and publish this to a standalone executable for playback on CD.

To do this, simply launch Opus Presenter in Extended Mode, create a blank new publication, then select the Video Object tool. Now simply draw a box on page where you want the video to be displayed.

You will now be taken into the properties of the Video object. Simply click Browse and navigate to the video file you wish to play. Now select the file, and click Open. You can now modify the other video properties as you see fit (for example, setting the video to play continuously or only to be visible when playing).

Now preview the publication and the video should play as required.

You can now publish your project to a standalone executable and burn the resulting publication, video and autorun.inf file to a recordable CD.

If by "insert video footage", you mean that you want to embed the video into the published executable (rather than being a separate file on the publication CD), I would recommend upgrading to Opus Pro 04.

I hope this helps. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any further queries.

Kind regards,

Dear Robin

Thanks a lot for your reply. I am using Opus to produce a project on our local area with children I teach and want it to include different types of presentation ie video, sound bites , maps, quiz etc . I will take your advice and explore Opus Presenter first and then update to Opus Pro.

once again
Many thanks

Joseph Mulligan
