As part of a storyboard for a project, we have started looking at how to implement the new drawing functions in V6.

This game is a spin off from the storyboard. The game is basically a modern day version of the pick up-sticks that some will have played as children.

There is a short rules screen to explain how to play.

The game uses the drawing commands together with cloning and OOP to create and manage the individual sticks. Although, this effect could be replicated using vectors, frames or images this method allows for the development of publications where drawn objects can be treated in the same way as other Opus objects.

@Roxie,

Glad you enjoyed the game - I'm that practice makes you better. I keep forgetting where the hot sticks are in this version and losing my hard earned points :-(

@Paul,

Thanks for this. Can I ask a favour - the technical blurb that you get when you use the 'email DW support' in Opus. could you send it to me instead as the IE crash is becoming a thorn - and is causing our SCORM modules to do the same thing. I think that IE7 is the culprit as some of are VPC have IE6 by default and the crash isn't happening - but I'm trying to collect as much data on this as possible as Plexus SCORMs need to be run under IE.

Hope you still managed to enjoy the game. How is the web module lock going?

Hi Mack,

Nice work.

Like Paul I also experience the IE problem with your program and my own. I use IE7.

The crashes are not consistent. Sometimes I get the apology message from IE, other times its just closes down and for quite a lot of the time it works as it should :P .

As you say - annoying.

Cheers David,

As I asked in Paul's post, if you can send me the technical data that you get from contact support - I 'hope' to find out what is causing this problem with Plexus web publication.

It maybe IE7 (I tried under IE8 and it still happens) but there are so many variables in this problem that it might be something else.

Those who haven't used this feature in Opus - see screen shot BUT change the email address to general(at)interaktiv.co.uk

Hi Mack,

I've switched to using Firefox 2.0.0.1.4 for the last couple of weeks and I have yet to encounter the random freezing and closing problems I have had with IE (6&7).

I am using the "Aerofox basic" skin which is very similar in look and feel to IE7. Also using Fireftp which makes uploading and downloading opus publications and associated files a doddle from within the browser.

Think I'll stick with it :)

However, this does not solve the problem does it?

Hi David,

Thanks for keeping us informed. I've personally used FF since it's humble beginnings.

Oddly, although I have nearly three dozen extensions, I've never really taken to themes - but there are some great additions out there. On the XT front, make sure install the IE Tab one, as this allows you to use FF as a shell for an IE session, never having to switch again :-)

Glad that you can now play the game without interruption - we've add a few more that you may have already peek at (see izones menu). On the issue of the IE bug, I've raised the issue with DW and they are looking into this.
