Obviously Opus gives us many paths to solve and create.
Setting aside server DB and Get/Post_Data for now, how valuable is it to have a database working with the Pub and used on client systems? [Edit: I mean client/user's host system PC]
You can include any form of "data repository" in your consideration... MS Access, Excel, etc. What are your concerns... for example, ODBC drivers, installation issues, User system needing specific applications., etc. Please base your response on practical needs and not just "of course we have to have that in our toolkit".
I think it is possible to have an embedded SQL database to ship with an Opus publication... and not have to specifically install DB connections.
