I have a laptop which I use for demonstrations and testing installations. I have installed service pack 3 and now find that no Opus publication will run beyond the splash screen. Other programmes run fine including MS Word and even a win 3.1 authored progrmme.

Any ideas/ Is it a video driver issue?

Jeremy

sorry to hear you've got troubles.

The simplest "try" may be to uninstall your display adapter (via Device Manager). Reboot a couple times, and then install the updated Video driver (again via Device Mgr, and use the 'Have Disk' option when you get to that step.) I'll also guess it's a good idea to set resolution at 1024x768 once... increase or change res. afterward as needed.

The above reflects some things I read about Vista update + laptop VGA drivers.

Other than that, start troubleshooting by viewing DW's sample Pubs. I assume Opus program is not on this system... so it's just the Pub and the player? Try fresh install of the latter.

My WinXP laptop is dead for now, so I have no experience with that SP3. Other/Windows forums may help.

Good luck.

Hi Jeremy,

I have SP3 and the problem you describe hasn't occurred. If you've been running Window's updates automatically then SP3 shouldn't really change anything anyway.

Can you post / email me a publication and I'll have a peek.

Mack

Jeremy,

I'm having a similar problem with some clients - they say that as an administrator it works, but as any other user it doen't. Hve you found a similar problem, and /or have you solved this?

Thanks,

Paul

My XP SP3 notebooks appear to work ok with Opus pubs.
