Hello,
I'm using Opus 5.5 on a pub that uses a 2 panel layout. I only want the 2nd panel to display when a link on the first panel is clicked, and then be able to hide it when a link is clinked. Is that possible?

I would just open it in another window, but I like the look of the panels, and I want the 2nd to always open up to the right of the main.

Thanks,
Mike

I'm not clear on the layout or navigation you want. But you can try this. Create a blank page in the same chapter that shows in Panel 2. Make that Page 'transparent' (properties >> background [uncheck]. Then you just need to insert an action somewhere that will GOTO Page (blank_transpar). How you get back from there I don't know... depends what you're trying to accomplish. Can Test it with a Button action on the Main, and figure out the rest.

Hi, Thanks for answering. I tried that out and it works.

However, now that I look at it, and seeing the title bar stretch all the way across, I realize I do need it to open in another window.
Do you know to make it so that the second window opens right next to the first window, no matter where the first window is on the screen?

Thanks,
Mike

you will find some answers in the Opus Help file.
Quote:
12. Use the Location panel to set the position of the window when it first appears on screen. Use the spin buttons to set the percentage in the Across and Down boxes. Alternatively, type the percentage directly into the boxes.

Note:

Setting the location to 50% Across and 50% Down will display the window in the centre of the screen.

Hi,
Thanks for the answer. I know how to do that. What I am wanting to do is have the second window always appear adjacent to the first window, no matter where the first window is on screen (it is draggable).
Thanks

You need to use the setinitialposition in conjunction with the getwindowstate.

Thanks very much, I'll have a go at that and let you know how it turns out!

Hi Mac,
I don't know anything about scripting, so I read the scripting help file. I couldn't write a script for it that worked, so I'm going to put this project off until I have time to really get into and understand the scripting.
Thanks for telling em what to use!
Mike
