I am running an Athlon 3.2GHz machine with a gig of ram running service pack 2 for XP Pro. ( and Im using Opus Pro 6.0 WITHOUT upgrade.

I cant figure this one out... I have a fresh machine - no internet connected to it ( so its safe ) - and I create projects.. they run perfectly... but when I PUBLISH them....thats the issue.

The project timing is all over the place...pictures come on late - and music is another thing...I am using a music track thats exactly 2 mins long. - I only need 100 secs total - so I start the music 20 secs in...- it all works and looks PERFECT - but on publishing...Opus ignores the 20 seconds in before playing I asked for. - and in some parts...the project runs too fast and the timing is way off.

Ive tried different settings... but to no use.... HELP!

P.S. - this might sound crazy... but from the moment I install Opus 6.0 I cant find my default Icon anymore.. it SHOULD be in my usual settings but its not.

some random ideas.

- if test the pub on another machine and has same issues, that helps eliminate possible platform issues, background processes, ...

- test pub as Full Opus Pub and install it... if that runs fine, you can narrow troubleshooting to the considerations for using Plexus/Web pub (some good info in Help files about "Optimizing Web publications")

Sometimes, timing issues can be caused by having too many actions on a single page.

If this is the case with your pub, can you break a single page into multiple pages, and use a variety of triggers to switch from page to page.

Thanks first of all for the quick reply mate.

Yes, I have tested the published project on 2 other systems - and get the same results.

The project is really simple actually, more of a slide show with some timed effects put to music.

It SHOULD have been a simple in & out project. - whack in the slides, drop in the music, and then "tweek" the transitions in time to the music.

One thing I DID notice however...while playing the presentation on my sons machine ( which as WAY more grunt than mine lol! ) - I noticed the CPU was hammering between 80 to 100% ....and rememebring the output was the same as it was on MY system, - Im at a loss.

Since this is a standard .exe type publication and not using plexus or anything to do with the web and it has no interactivity options except to simply "play" - Im at a total loss.

the BRIGHT side is that if this keeps up, Ill be saving the price of a haircut by pulling my hair out MYSELF! lol!

Ive even re-installed Opus Pro 6.0 ( because the data is on my other drive ) - and sure enough...the same thing.

Your thoughts?

Rick --

Convert your audio/music to an MP3 file. You don't state what you are currently using...

ONLY use a Timeline to make EVERYTHING start and stop. Get rid of any other interactivity.

Make those two changes and it will work on every machine.

Thanks fred, and all those that are always ready to offer their help.

You were ALL quite correct!! - I found that by trial and error, I was asking Opus to do too many intricate and time critical calculations on a single page in some cases.

By reducing the load on the program by either removing or in some cases just changing the looks and layout, it runs like a hummingbird.

Thank GOD for wonderful people like you. :D

Kindest regards...
Rick.
