Hi,

It seems cannot change the video in a video object during runtime like you can for a slide show object or image object. I'm trying to find a workaround.

I need to display lots of videos from various locations on one page (one at a time).

As a workaround I tried creating a simple html file that embeds the video into the file. However the video is not displayed in a browser of doc view window. All I can hear is sound (publish and production)...

The code in the HTML file is here:

<OBJECT id="VIDEO" width="640" height="480"
style="position:absolute; left:0;top:0;"
CLASSID="CLSID:6BF52A52-394A-11d3-B153-00C04F79FAA6"
type="application/x-oleobject">

<PARAM NAME="URL" VALUE="MOV03677.MPG">
<PARAM NAME="SendPlayStateChangeEvents" VALUE="True">
<PARAM NAME="AutoStart" VALUE="True">
<PARAM name="uiMode" value="none">
<PARAM name="PlayCount" value="9999">
</OBJECT>

The html file opens fine and plays the video ok in IE7 and in chrome.

PC: Windows XP SP3. Opus 6.4.

Please help!

Cheers,

Paul

Ok - A bit more info.

I've created a brand new pub, a brand new browser object and the html file works...

Seems I have a corrupted .pub file.
Tried a brand new browser object and it still doesn't work.

I am using master pages so I tried disabling them. Same.

This is driving me mad! :(

May have misunderstood the problem,

But to use a dynamic video file - simply use a variable for the video path.

Thanks Mack,

You understood the situation perfectly and I was being a numpty.

I created a new publication and I was able to use a vaiable. I'm sure I couldn't type into that box before!

What a load of time I've wasted! :oops:

Thanks - it could have been a lot more if you hadn't replied.
