I've been playing with Opus 6.4 for several months. It's been so easy to use that I thought it was problem-free. I use Win XP Pro SP3. Today I encountered a challenge for which I cannot find an answer.

Project background
I want to convert a book I have written to an Opus Publication. Page sizes are 800x600.

I add a text box which is the same size as the page. I add a vertical scrollbar to this text box.

Into this I import text from a chapter. Size of the text varies anywhere from 1000 to 5000+ words. It loads without any problem.

When I try to scroll down the text using either Page Down or by clicking in the lower portion of the scrollbar, the text moves until the thumb gets to about 7/8 of the way down the length of the scrollbar. At that point it stops. To move it any further I have to place the cursor on the bottom arrow and double-click to move down one line at at time.

Thanks

PS. I tried to add a signature in the Profile, but there was no place where I could input the details.
I've searched this forum, but have not been able to find any info that will provide a solution, or tell me why this problem occurs.

Does anyone have any ideas? Please at this stage of my Opus knowledge I would prefer not to use scripting.

The scroller action is affected by the paragraph settings. Try setting the spacing before / after the paragraphs to zero - assuming this doesn't imped on necessary formatting.

You are 100% correct. Removing paragraph spacings allows the scrolling to work.

Unfortunately, removing these spacings produces large blocks of text, which for many readers are difficult to read.

Not being able to use paragraph spacings pretty much negates the value of having Paragraph Properties.

I've been looking for alternatives that will allow spacings and provide effective scrolling control. I've tried a few different scripting options, but so far, none has worked.

Oh well, back to the drawing board.
