Hi

Bit of an urgent request.

I basically want to launch a PDF file when I click a button. Don't want to open it using docview etc. or use PDFEXE - just want to click button and it launches adobe acrobat and reads the file.

However the software is not launching the file whenever I click on the button.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

create the button, then attact an action to 'launch file'. it will then just open the file in acrobat?? is that what you are trying to do??

That's what I've been trying, but it won't work - literally nothing happens when you click the link.

It's ok now, though, I'm doing it a different way using the DocView function and it seems to be fine.

Thanks

I just created a one Page Pub with a single Button using the default Left Mouse Trigger and a "Launch" Action where I browsed and found a PDF file.

In Preview I left click the mouse and my Acrobat Reader program opens displaying the selected PDF file. So it works just as advertised.

Take a look on your computer to make sure you have the correct association connecting PDFs with the Adobe Acrobat Reader. You might specify "AcroRed32.exe" for the program to Launch with the "option/parameter" with the name of your PDF file (include the "PDF" file extension). Make sure when you Publish, you include the PDF file in the directory with your OPUS EXE file. You can automatically have the file included by going to "Publication Properties -> Additional Resources" and do an "Add" where you ID your PDF file.
