Warm greetings to all!

I found I have to republish some flex/flash projects so they're compatible with the new flash readers. But I can't get Opus Pro 5 to install on the new laptop, which has Vista Ultimate 64-bit. It gets to what seems to be the end of the installation and then gives me the following error:

"The file 'C:\Windows\@C:\Windows\SysWOW64\occache.dll,=1070\ilm5.ocx' could not be opened. Please check that your disk is not full and that you have access to the destination directory. The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is correct."

I saw a similar problem with mcsvrt.dll listed in the discussion board, and it suggested to run it in the XP compatibility mode. I tried this, but setup wouldn't continue past the DW splash image.

Cheers!
John

Jecc,

I doubt this is something that can be solved on the forum.

You should email support at digital workshop, and provide as much information about your Opus product registration and your new system environment as you can get your hands on.

Consider that Opus v5 is 'old'. It may not be supported for OS's that were introduced after it.

I assume you executed the installer as "Run as Administrator" since Vista is tougher on permissions than XP etc.

My experience is that once an Opus Install fails, subsequent attempts are thwarted by what's already written to registry etc. (BTW, as an aside, I've had infinitely better luck running from the default install directory than in naming my own (Vista32 / Opus v64)).

Good luck.

v5 is not offered as Vista compatible. It does work under 64bit for XP.

The error you're getting with the OCX has been posted before, but if Opus is able to run, then it should work with without this - as it's for Plexus.

I would imagine that DW would advise upgrading to v6 but even then it is not necessary supported as it's not a 64bit product but people do run it successfully.

The alternative is to use a virtual machine or dual boot.

Mack

Hi John

Really great to see a post from you. Long time between posts. I'm not sure what name I was using back 8 years ago -- perhaps Ray Walsh.
