Hi,

Has anyone used Opus to create a client / server e-learning setup? So each user would have the client version of the publication installed on their computer, and then there would be a server edition that listens records users progress.

Just wondering how people have implemented this. Other possibility would be to use Windows IIS server and create an ASP.net website with database that Opus publication posts data to.

Any suggestions or ideas?

More of a 'hybrid' suggestion. You could use OpusPro and SQLite (or other DB) on the Client side. SQLite can now be done without ODBC or special PC configuration.

The client Pub could be set to do any series of 'logging' progress or 'reverse polling' to submit status periodically or as a milestone watchdog. And the DB would keep it permanently written for client. I think you could even make that 'portable' for student on a Flash-drive.

The rest I guess, on the server side, would be simple PHP stuff. And the communication would be Opus' PostInternetData.
