I also wondering if DW is going to set up a link where we can download the product for evaluation purposes.
I tried to reply to the announcement of the release of Opus Pro XE but the forum would not let me. Only moderators can reply in that area.
Could you please DW reply to this query.
Thanks

German

Is this a temporary thing, or does it mean there will never be an evaluation version for XE?

There's a slim chance I might be interested in upgrading to 04XE - but, given my past experiences with Opus, I wanna see the whole actual thing I'd be buying working on my desktop first ...the non-XE evaluation is not enough for me to do this.

We have never had an evaluation copy of XE and there are no plans to do one. Most people who buy XE buy it for a specific features and as we offer a 60 day money back guarantee they can return the product if the program does not do what they expected.

Hi, I just downloaded this product and I am dying to test it. Before I do so, could you please DW advise on the following:

1-Do I need to download any patch to apply to this new product or not?

I am saying this considering the latest issues with Opus Pro 04 that have forced DW to produce a new patch as per the following problem:

viewtopic.php?t=45

2-In the same computer where I am planning to install this new Opus Pro XE I already have Opus Pro XE and Opus Pro 04 installed. This is because I have different projects that require updates very often and I do not want to convert them to newest version for obvious compatibility issues. So the question is: Can I install the Opus Pro XE 4.0 in the same computer?

Thank you for your reply. I am not going to install Opus Pro XE 4.0 until hearing from you DW people from.

Sincerely
German De Silva

Hi German,

While waiting for an official reply from DW, I can be confident in saying I have had no problems in installing different versions of Opus on my computer.

(Simply backup your SYSTEM registry in doubt I guess)

I can effectively have and run the old ILM 4.51, Opus Pro 2.81, and Opus Pro 04.x

On another Hard Disk I had Opus Pro 04 plus the beta of 04 XE -- all with out conflicting hiccups.

....just letting you know my experience, until DW get the opportunity to reply to you.

Also no special previous patch is needed to update using the SR2 now available. Previously as you have been concerned about, at one stage we had to on occasions to re-install the original O4 CD. It does not seem the case this time.

I certainly hope my information is correct for you. DW can slap me about if my information is wrong!

OK, your prerogative of course - but that turns my slim chance of buying into no chance of buying. Call me old fashioned (grumpy old man if you prefer!), but I have all sorts of issues with buying to try.

Some intresting comments here people.

Any chance of letting us know when you have a downloadable version for people that ring you to purchase the upgrade.

Like to pay and get straight off, do not mind paying the postage for the boxed version as it it well worth having. but in this day and age it is the norm to be able to download your product upon credit card payment.

Thought that was the beauty of the web???? (Come on DWS) can not be that hard to setup) can it?

Thanks

Jonpaul

Jonpaul,

We are able to provide you with a link now that will allow you to download the full version. This was available the day xe was released.
