Is it possible to create a DVD player with Opus?
I would like to combine the function of playing a DVD and a score system that i made for my quiz software.

The DVD player needs the following functions:
-Play
-Forward
-Back
-Menu

Can someone help me with this problem.

kind regards,
Ad Mulders

What do you mean?
Do you want to play VOB files?
Do you want to play them from a DVD or do you want to embed the VOB files?

What i have is a DVD with a quiz on it. Each question has 3 possible answers. Normaly the user can choose the right answer by using the remote control to step from the one to the other, or click with the mouse on the screen.
After pressing the answer the next question shows up.
When i insert the DVD in my computer the default DVD player opens and i can play it. What i like to do is to play that DVD inside an opus application. Is that possible by extracting the VOB file from the DVD?

Kind regards,

Ad Mulders

Vob files are the result of a diverse collection of image files, video and audio processing in a language can read DVDs in home appliances and computer DVD players.

Probably, this questionnaire was created in a program with behavior similar to Opus and his inferface then compiled into a program for making DVDs such as DVD Lab Pro, to name one example.

The process of creating an interactive DVD is too much work, in which multiple applications can be used, each with its specific routines, and the end result is usually achieved at the end of several sequential steps.

I do not think you can go make the way back, because all the logic of the questionnaire was transformate into a movie! The interactivity of the User is very subjective, because it has the only hand remote control dvd player.

You can use a free programme called Super from erightsoft.com to turn the VOB file into AVI or WMV or MPG or MP4 or MP3 or whatever, which can then be saved on your hard drive and called by a variable.

hope this helps

I have great news.
Opus Pro v7 can handle vob-files and also flv-files (works great for flash publications).
So it should be possible to create a player for playing vob-files.

Great Osni!

Does Opus 7 will come with native support for the various wide screen resolutions making possible publications in full HD?

Support for new video formats, such as flv format is great news, since the format is more lightweight and compatible with many web applications.

And part of programming in Opus Script? Will be increased? More compatibility with action Script, more functions easier to apply would also be an excellent good news!
