Is there a way to open multiple images? I have opened over 20 images at a time with slideshow but then I could not separate them. Am I wishful thinking?

Hi Norma,

It depends what you are trying to do, specifically.

Certainly you can place 50 Image_Objects on a Page, and assign an image to each of those. ( '50' being an arbitrary number ) So these would be placed in static positions.

You could further modify that to change the images in one or more of those 'containers'... using triggers and actions and variables.

You could animate the Image_Object -- move one or more along a Path. Fade-in and Fade-out. Put several of these Image_Objects in a Frame and move the whole frame.

Possibilities abound.

Thanks, Lar;

I wasn't very clear. If I had 50 images in a file, could I open them all at once instead of opening each picture separately.

Do you mean 'folder'?

The short answer is 'yes'.

But will you have a fixed number of images all the time, or will that number vary? How will you determine dimensions of image on an Opus page? Is there a particular layout scheme you have in mind? Are all images the same size, or are you trying to make a mosaic or collage?

The 'long' answer is 'I still do not know enough about your design plan to help you'. Sorry.

ps. if you simply want to 'populate' an Opus page with a fixed number of images and the number of .jpg files in a folder matches that set number... that is one challenge with a few approaches to achieve it.
-- you could do it manually while you are in the OpusPro Editor (match each jpg file to one ImageObject)
-- you could do it programmatically... develop a set of actions that load each jpg file in some sequence to x-number of ImageObjects.

I guess I speak more words than I need to... what do you want? What does a finished Page NEED to look like? Will it change?

Dear Lar,

I appreciate your help. I am basically being lazy and wanted to put 28 images on my page at the same time. What I now did was place one image on the page and used QuickBuild to make a table out of it and then replaced the other 27 images manally. It worked out beautifully. I animated the pictures of yellow things and yellow rectangles, put them to music for a good effect.

Thanks of your help.

Norma

Hi Norma,

I was wondering whether Opus would be clever but it turns out it's too smart. If you select multiple images and drag and drop into the editor it creates a slide show :-)

However, although not as fast, you can place the windows next to each other and drag n drop one image at a time. This is probably faster than adding them through Opus.

While on the subject of inserting image content, you can also Copy an image (for example, while in your Image Viewer App... where maybe you have just cropped it), then over in the OpusPro Editor... simply Paste on the Page (click on the page first). That will activate the Image-tool, so just stretch the Image_Object where you want it.

Note: you will probably want to check its properties to learn what the Path to the image is, or simply 'consolidate resources' at some point when Saving your .imp
