How do I add default buttons and images to Opus.

On the button for creating buttons in the toolbar there is the option of 1,2,3,4,5 custom buttons. How do I set these?

I think I used these in the past but I cannot get it working now.

Thanks.

Damn that was a long time ago.

I've added it to Interaktiv's new scribbles archive.

For those who would like to add Custom Buttons, follow these instructions:

1) Create a Button Object
2) Customize the Button with different colors, States, Borders, Cursors, text, whatever you want
3) Give the Button Object a unique name in the Organizer.
4) Right mouse click your special Button Object and select "Copy to Gallery." You will be asked to select which Gallery to locate your Button. I'd suggest "Basic" but it will work anywhere.
5) In the Organizer on the left side of your screen, click the SIDE tab "Components" then select the "Basic" Gallery (if that's where you previously stored the Button).
6) You should see the name of your Button and an image icon of it within this Gallery. Highlight it, then do a Right mouse click to reveal a drop-down menu.
7) The first option at the top of the list of possible selections is "Set as Default Object," when you hover over this, you'll see the available new default Buttons. Select Button 1 if this is your first new default Button.
8) You'll want to do a Gallery Save and any other Saves to make sure this new default Button is available the next time you open OPUS. You'll notice next to the standard vanilla Button Object creator there's a drop-down arrow which will now offer you your newly created Button.

Mack, what a great idea and format. Thanks appreciate the work and the sharing.

I might suggest...
-- the 'Welcome' entry (or its message) be fixed to the scribble's main page.
-- once I click a category, there's no obvious way back to 'all'
-- in future... a tag cloud?

Cheers

Cheers Lar,

It was supposed to be a beta idea. Next thing, I've got some articles and as a famous doctor once claimed - it's alive.

I've added a home link to take you back to all articles. Integrated the articles into the site search, with option for Scribbles only and included a tag cloud. The welcome bit at the start goes against the principles of blogging - they're supposed to be in reverse chronological order - so I cheated - sure you'll work out how.

@Fred - I missed the last bit - save the gallery - always forget that.

Mack

Now that's a fun thing.

Actually galleries are quite powerful in terms of productivity. I suggest you not use the default path c:\program files\opus.... for custom Galleries because if you ever reinstall Opus application you will lose your custom objects.

Maybe use something in the Users path
or at least in the c:\program data path (depending on your backup discplines).
