Hi

What I would like to do is put several PDF's on a Data DVD and run a opus published program to access them. So when you press on a button to launch the PDF it opens from the Data DVD.

I am running Vista on my laptop, I have a lightscribe DVDrom and XP on my computer. 2.0GH AMD processor, Geforce nvidia 8200 and all are working fine.
and opus creator 6

I'm sure that this question has been posted recently under the Opus section but basically you need to use system variables such as:

<SYSTEM_CD_DRIVE>

or

<SYSTEM_PUBLICATION_DIR>

In the path for your files.

I have successfully used PDF files within OPUS many times. It works. Do TWO things:

1) Set an ACTION of Launch the name of the PDF file with no location. Make sure you include the PDF file extention (e.g. Myfile.pdf)

2) Copy all the PDF files you want into the same location as your OPUS exe file.

Obviously, the viewer's computer MUST have the Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on their computer. I usually put a small disclaimer to that effect in my OPUS presentation, then have a link to the web to allow the viewer to install that required file.

Glad I was able to help. Remember, this may not appear to work in Preview mode IF you do not have your files (PDF, DOC, SWF, MPG, etc) in the same sub folder as your OPUS imp source file. When you Publish your Publication, you need to have those files within the same folder as your EXE file.
