I've put together a simple, but rather novel video display routine. We are going to use it to show a time lapse of a rig down at one location and up at another. The vides start side by side. If you push one button, the left vid zooms to full screen and the other gets small and moves to a corner on top. Another button reverses this, and two more do the same for the right video.

Here's the problem: How to get the get right vid on top of the left one, then reverse this as required?

Seems like it should be simple, but I can't locate a reference for this.

You'll need to use the SetLayer() command. I believe the help might be a little ambiguous, but basically use something like zero for layer below and five for layer on top.

Also, this will only work for rendered not chroma.

Mackavi, saved me a lot of frustration as usual. Took all of 10 minutes or so to finish this thing up after your post and it's working great. Like I said, hardly complex, but the folks at my company think I am a genious for cutting the costs of the proposed video in half by this simple means of presentation. Further, it will be tailorable to various needs in ways it would not be done conventionally.

Things need not be complex to be useful!

Anything one can do along the same lines with a text box?

Might have missed something...but you can do exactly the same with text boxes - move, scale, setlayer.

Okies, I'll try it. Tried it with a button and it did not work. Noted that the OpusScript help said "image" and assumed it would work only for an image frame.

Perhaps I assume too much...

PS-Indeed, I assume too much. Worked just fine. Wonder if if goofed with the button or if it really didn't work with it. Since i did a workaround with an image of a button that worked, no point in trying it again...but it would have save 15 minutes or so if the button had worked with SetLayer.

FYI - buttons work just fine.
