I have timeline that syncs narration with visual cues on a page. I'd like the user to be able to pause the audio in sync with the visual cues and resume where it left off when desired. Anyone know how to go about doing this? Timelines as I understand them are limited to starting and stopping.
Much Thanks,
Leticia

Leticia,

I think you are right about the Timeline not having a Pause/Resume feature.

You can think about a workaround -- that could be simple if your Timeline was simply doing Show/Hide or some visual animations. (If you are using Transitions for effects, this approach likely will not be satisfactory).

Basic idea: Animate an object01 along a Path (Follow Path action). Set the time duration for travel.
Place a few Vector Lines or thin rectangles across the Path at certain points.
Then use a Collision Exit or Collision Enter trigger*, and under it the Actions for Show/Hide that you would have had in the Timeline.
Your Pause & Resume buttons would be used to Pause Animation of the Path, and Resume anim path.

*Collision trigger and action of object01 needs to be set-up with each of the objects placed along the path. Here is a simple trick to doing this.
Instead of putting the Trigger & Action on object01, create it on what I'll call your pathObject01. Trigger is Collision Enter (or Exit) and you check or select the moving object01. Set up your Actions to Show or Hide (or whatever) some "visuals". Apply or save that set up.
-- Now COPY that Trigger (select it in the tree... Rt Clk and Copy )
-- Simply select your pathObject02... then Edit Actions. With that object selected in the actions tree, Rt-Click and Paste.
Next you select the action there, and modify it to Show/Hide a different "Visual Cue" -- or you can delete that action and create the appropriate one to replace it.

BTW, The Path and all those related objects can be positioned off the visible Page, out of sight of the User.

Might work.

Thank you for taking the time to respond to my question, but most of that was greek to me. I have no prior experience working with animations in OPUS. I tried implementing what you were suggesting but was not successful. I will have to settle on this one for now.

Okay. If you decide to resume the project, let us know.
