I have a 2 chapters. The first is set to 1024 x 768. The second is set to 1024 x 1600.

The problem is when I jump from a page in chapter 2 back to 1. It brings up an annoying scrollbar at the bottom of the screen.

When I run chapter 1, all the pages are fine - the scrollbar appears when I go from the higher sized 1024 x 1600 back to 1024 x 768.

How can I have it not bring up this scroll bar when I return to chapter 1 pages.

Thanks.

Are you displaying your publication fullscreen or in a window?

Works ok on my computer -- However you haven't given us much to go on -- information like:
What resolution is your PC running at -- what version of Opus are you using?? etc always comes in useful.

My PC is running at 1024x 768

.Windows XP Pro SP2, 400GB HD 3GB RAM
.Opus Pro 04 (04.00)
.Displaying publication full screen

2 Chapters

Chapter 1 is set to 1024 x 768
Chapter 2 is set to 1024 x 1600 (which creates a right hand scrollbar, which is fine because I want to be able to scroll to the bottom of the page.)

The problem arises when I on a page in Chapter 2 I click a button to go back to a page in Chapter 1 (1024 x 768). It displays the page ok but now has a horizontal scrollbar at the bottom as though to scroll across to something but the resolution is 1024 x 768 the same as my resolution so this shouldn't appear.

It looks like Opus is having difficulty going back from 1024 x 1600 to 1024 x 758 without bringing up the unnecessary scrollbar as indicated in my picture attachment.

Hi vrealdeal,

Seems you have discovered a problem. I can replicate this using Opus Pro XE 4.50.

The good news is there is an easy workaround fix:

On the Chapter 1's Properties General Tab, look at the Resizing options...

- Tick the 3 options: Pages resized Horizontal and Vertical and Maintain Aspect.

- The 4 max/min settings on the right UNTICK them all. (so these are not used)

This should resolve the problem.

Hi Paul --

Try sizing the first Chapter to your current screen res, then the 2nd Chapter to something larger. When you click on a button to go back to 'Page 1' -- you should get the scrollbars. It will be interesting if this problem is only evident on some systems.

Opus: 8.6
OS: Win 8 (ASUS) - Win 7: (ASUS)
System: Asus - Windows 7 - 8 - Intel Core 3 - 4RAM - 16RAM
This problem still appears in Opus 5.

To recreate, create a pub with 2 Chapters.
For Chapter 1 set properties to 1024x768
In Chapter and set properties to custom size at 1024x800
Place a button on page 1, (Chapter 1) to move to the 2nd page in Chapter 2
Place a button on page 2 (Chapter 2) to return to page 1.

Run the pub. Move from page 1 to page 2 and return to page 1 and see if a horizontal scrollbar appears at the bottom of the page.

On my system a scrollbar horizontal scrollbar appears at the bottom.

System
Win XP Home
display set at 1024x768
32 bit colour
