Strange problem with Opus 7.06

Fired Opus 7.06 up yesterday, and for the life of me, it appears that my standards configuration of ( tool bars ) have become "self-aware" and decided to move below one another which reduced my page view of my project.

These tool bars are currently also "locked" in position and cannot be relocated.

one in particular ( the size tool ) has possibly a different issue. I sent to the view option, and selected view tool bars, and ticked the box to see the size tool -it popped up as usual...but when I De-selected it again using the check box.... although the actual tool options themselves disappeared, the blue frame itself stays in position and then becomes LOCKED in position as well. as well

Ive tried resetting the tools option and even went to the extent of uninstalling Opus Opus 7.06 itself, and doing a re-install - and the same tools ended up in the same, locked, position as before.
any ideas?

Do you mean the Control-Alt registry reset?

No, sorry, that's not the issue.

I'm talking about the long ( and movable ) bars at the top of your screen which allow you to change font to size, - you know the ones.... they are at the top across your screen.
well, all of mine have decided to park one on top of he other nd I cant seem to move them back up into place. :( - sorry for any confusion.

Regards...
Rick.

Hi Rick,

Yeah, got the toobar bit. The Control-Alt resets the registry for the user preferences including I believe the toolbars settings. Also, have you tried to run Opus under a different profile? This is useful to identify whether it's a machine or user level problem.

Hi mack,
Sorry about the delay in my reply - shift work is really demanding. :(

Regarding the toolbar issue....Ive just noticed ( I had not done this before because I gave up out of sheer frustration with the toolbar issue ) but there is MORE!
I just opened Opus 7 and noticed that as wel las the toolbar issue, now, I have MASSIVE options now greyed out ) these include..

in the drop down under " FILE" - from the " SCORM Test publications " - all the way down to " print action list " Everything between is greyed out.

in the drop down under " EDIT " Everything is greyed out.

Half of the " views" is greyed out

ALL of the " layers, insert, and Publication " options ar greyed out.

There's a LOT more ( too many to record here ).

I'm STUMPED! - I've even tried to uninstall Opus, and clear the registry, and then do a fresh install........same results!

I have NO- IDEA - or PROOF for that matter, but the LAST thing that happened to my system was a Microsoft windows 7 up-date.

Ive rolled back to an earlier time...and - nope!.....no change. ( im wondering if anybody ELSE has had this issue, and if DW has experienced this issue with other users.
your thoughts?

My ONLY remaining option is to FORMAT the system....( )

P.S. - on a side note: for some reason on this board, I cant seem to get access to any of the "samples" to look at and learn from - the board tells me I am not authorized to view!.....any ideas?

No problem,

Are you running Opus 6 & 7 on the same system. It probably isn't related, but for some reason, I decided not to do this - though I can't remember if I'd had a specific problem.

If you've tried removing Opus fully, different profiles and shutting down anything that might affect the program - then a clean slate might be necessary. It's a big pain which is why it's best to always use working images rather than full installs as it's quicker to find problems.
