We have the opportunity to begin to develop some training modules for our corporate loss control department. They would like to have a series of lessons that the user would go through and take a small quiz/test at the end. So far, so good, I can do that. What they want, and I'm not sure how to accomplish, is to notify someone in their department that this particular employee has gone through the lesson and passed the test. I can build the application to automatically launch an e-mail with quiz results, etc. but I would like to be able to do this behind the scenes, so to speak. The delivery method would be either CD or over the corporate intranet.

Any ideas?

Hi,

Thank you for your enquiry.

The Launch E-mail action allows you to send e-mails without user intervention - simply disable the Show mail dialog and Prompt MAPI log on if required options in the settings of the Launch E-mail action.

If you need to include the contents of variables in the e-mail message, simply type in the name of the variable surrounded by angled brackets (chevrons). For example, if a variable named 'answer1' contains the string 'Paris', inserting <answer1> into the body of the e-mail will result in the recipient seeing the word 'Paris'.

You can therefore combine variables with static text to make up the entire message. For example:

This e-mail is to confirm that <SYSTEM_USERNAME> completed the training test on <SYSTEM_DATE_FULL> at <SYSTEM_TIME_HOUR>:<SYSTEM_TIME_MINUTE>. This user scored <SCORE_CORRECT> points.

will look like the following to the recipient:

This e-mail is to confirm that Bob Fish completed the training test on 3rd March 2005 at 16:10. This user scored 28 points.

Kind regards,

Robin,

I knew there was a way, I just haven't been able to devote the time I need to mine the depths of this very valuable tool.

Thanks.
