Hello

I am working on a big publication, 200 pages. I used to publish it as an .exe, but as many of my students are now using Macs, I am now publishing it for Flash. After a lot of changes everything seems to work fine.

Few days ago I started getting error message when publishing and the publish stopped (see attachment). This now happens frequently, the publish stops at different pages, but always in the same 3 chapters. This happens even I have not been working on these pages or their master pages. I tried to delete a few pages around the error, but then it just stops at the next page. I also tried to delete the whole chapter and copy it back from an older version - did not help.

The only thing i have found out to do, is to make a copy every hour or two, and when the error occurs, I have to revert to the latest version. This works, but slows me down and of course is very tiring!

Any idea what is wrong?

Jonas

You should include some technical information in your profile to help people - such as OS and Opus Version.

That said, switching to a different publication type is never advisable - it's much better to build from scratch. Additionally, if you are running Opus 8, I did notice that if I opened large Flex files created in an earlier version that they would fail to publish. I was merely playing with the new Opus version (8.0) and didn't look at the issue in any more detail as large flex files generally need treating with kid gloves anyway.

Thank you for this reply

Some parts of my publication can be dated as far back as the old Illuminatus late 1990s! I decided to delete all the oldest chapters and build them up again from scratch, Copy/paste every piece of text via Notepad etc. Now things are working normally again.

Glad it's solved and cheers for posting the solution - I'm sure it'll help others.

I think I have had this from time to time as well on old publications.

Try saving the publication to a totally different drive with all the resources. I think that usually helps.
