Hello

Just finished a program and published it into an EXE. However when testing it a message came up saying "Cannot find publication file!".
Any ideas what is wrong?

What OS / Platform ?

Did you publish as a single EXE or parts?

I use Windows 8 Pro.
It was published as a single standalone EXE.

Hi Vesperillo

Just in case, and you've probably done this, but have you searched your drive for the missing exe?

The other thing I would do is republish and carefully note the published output path and then test again. There might have been some glitch as sometimes happens with computers and OS systems.

Tried re-publishing?

An oldie these days, but have you checked your hard drive space to make sure there is sufficient space for your file. Might apply if publishing to a thumb drive.

Have you played safe with your filename characters?

Hope you can solve the problem

Graham

That's rather odd then as I thought the .ilm files were generated when you published as Executable and Data File mode.

It may be a moot point now, but try restarting the machine and also deselected the 'incremental publish' option - second tab in the settings screen when publishing.

If that doesn't work, upload the publication and we'll see if it happens on other machines.

It seemed to be related to some Windows updates. After they had been installed, I was able to create the publication file as normal.

However, one thing is curious.

I had changed the default Opus icon with one of my own design. When the EXE-publication was created the program only showed the Opus icon and not the new one! When I looked at the program's Properties the new icon was included, but apparently not active.

Then I tried to run the program on a Windows 7 machine and a XP machine - both showed my new icon and the program ran just fine.

Very odd..
:?:

Thank you for your help :)
