Problem guys...I am an administrator of a school network running Windows 2003 Server and Windows XP workstations. If I install Opus, it only puts the program icons on MY desktop and MY start menu. Also, I am the only person able to run it.

I created a copy of the desktop shortcut for the users wishing to use the program for a training session, but when they try to run it, they get the Opus splash screen...then nothing. The splash screen dissappears after a second or so.

All workstations are XP.SP2. Our staff really want to use this, so any help/info would be most welcome.

As a test, I made the users administrators of the workstations, but it didnt affect anything, the program still refused to run. While the user was logged on, I clicked the RMB on the program (in its installed directory) and selected 'runas' and typed my credentials, it ran ok.

Hi,

Thank you for your enquiry.

The Opus installer creates a hardware-specific registry key which locks the installation to the original machine. If another machine tries to launch this instance of Opus, the registry key will not match their hardware and an 'Installation Corrupt' error will be displayed.

We have produced an Opus Licence Manager which can be run as a service on the network controller. This allows you to manage your licences and allow Opus to be run from the server or cloned onto each machine. Please send me a Private Message or e-mail support@digitalworkshop.com if you wish to receive this.

Kind regards,

Are youa ctually trying to run it from a different machine?

I had a similar problem merely logged in as a different user to the one I intalled it under.

Thread is here--might be helpful--I tweaked the security settings to make it work, just copying the shortcuts didn't do the trick..
