I've suggested to have a way in OPUS to export an object as an image instead of printing it. That was yesterday in the Wishlist Section. This is useful for me because I can make my app export pictures of someone's own work on the program, let's say organising blocks by drag'n'drop.

Maybe I am not understanding correctly and you are asking for such a application, if it is the case then I'am joinning you. It would be a very nice feature for me as well.

Thank you for this useful utility.

CAP 2.23 is a very useful command-line based program for capturing the current screen information and saving to an image file. You can even specify the screen area which should be captured and set the format and compression of the resulting file.

To use this with Opus, you would simply need to place the CAP executable in the same directory as your publication, then use a Launch File action to launch the CAP executable, using the <SYSTEM_PUBLICATION_DIR> variable as the path to the file. You can now input any required launch parameters (as advised in the CAP documentation) into the with option/parameter field.

I'm not familiar with CAP 2.23, but I will mention a screen capture utility I have used for years.

It is Hypersnap Pro which as well as being able to capture many different parts/types of screens (including optionally being able to capture cursors) it performs many functions (crop, resize, resample) that I have found useful in the 10+ years I've used it.

PS -- they also have HyperCam, which is powerful video capture software that records AVI movies (screencam) directly from your monitor, for software presentations, software training, demos, tutorials. This might just interest some recent posters. I've not used this application.

Update: After writing the above, I downloaded HyCam and managed to make a flawless screen video without even reading the help files. I've since gone back and purchased a copy.

Good programs indeed, but I programmed the Viewer app. specially for capturing and saving from the copyboard Frame objects (with other image objects inside) which the user Drag&Drop in a certain way in their publication.

Thanks again for this application, Jocy - it is a great solution to a problem faced by many authors.

Sorry if I gave the impression I was redirecting users to other applications I was simply recalling a number of packages I had used in the past to tackle this problem, but I much prefer your Opus-based solution!
