Is is possible in XE 04 to create text on a path - such as a circle?

I can do it in Photoshop and import as a bitmap, but I would rather do it with Opus vector text if possible.

Thanks for any information,
Bill

Hi Bill,

I'm not sure if you mean text wrappping around a circle, or the text "orientation aligned" to follow the path?

See attached for a crude example. (Each polygon letter was manually slightly rotated in the vector text, in the editor.)

I don't think you can do text on a path in Opus. It's not really a vector drawing program, although you can make vector artwork with it.

If you want to do that type of thing I'd recommend Illustrator, Freehand, CorelDraw, Flash or the totally free - inkscape from http://www.inkscape.org/ I haven't tried it but - it's free!

Thanks Steve and Craig.

Steve, very cleaver workaround for small text items. I tried it with my project, but eventually gave up, as I needed a rather large amount of text to circle a company logo. The manual positioning of the text and manual rotation of characters was too much for me.

Craig, I will give one of the commercial vector programs a shot.

Thanks both very much for the help and advice!

Hi Bill,
Vectors exported from Illustrator or Freehand do not work correctly in Opus, but I have no problems using Coreldraw.
Export from Coreldraw as a wmf file and it will import as a vector into Opus.
Once it's inside Opus it behaves exactly like one made in Opus.
Fitting text around a circular path takes about 30 seconds.
Try importing the attached example into Opus.

hi,

chris jones gave me some times ago a script to animate a text letter by letter. I have adapt it to my need, and one of my need was to animate a text on a path.
