Is there an easy way to reset a text box back to it's default (getting rid of any kerning or spacing settings I might have introduced?)

Thanks.

Hi Linda

I've had a bit of a play and would say from this, there is no easy way to do what you want to do.

You might try copying and pasting the text that is in the text box into a third party application and then after drawing a new text box in Opus, pasting the text from the third party application back again into the new textbox.

I tried several third party softwares including MS Word, Notepad ++ and Windows 7 own notepad to see what might happen.

The best result came from Windows 7 notepad where the newly pasted text in a new Opus textbox looked like a new default text insertion. Certainly, the kerning and other modifications were gone.

There might be a better way. Hopefully the esteemed learned boys and girl members of this forum will have something to say.

Cheers

Graham

I use that trick (notepad) when all else fails and not just for Opus but...

Opus > Edit Menu > Paste Unformatted Text will remove all formatting when pasted into a new object.

Hi, I was looking to do the opposite - I've got text boxes that are actioned from timeliness, animations etc. But as they've been changed from English to Arabic to Hindi , different formatting has been applied - kerning, spacing, etc. I just wanted to reset it. This function is available in any word processor.

Oh, sorry, was answering Graham's idea.

You need the copy and paste text styles on the Quick Build menu.

I sometimes wonder if I know more than I think I do or less than I think I do.

My dad says the more you learn, the more you will forget. The more you forget, the less you know, so why bother? :D Nothing like encouragement eh?

Helping someone is always the right thing to do on this forum even if one's help is sometimes misguided.

Hope Linda has solved her problem, one way or the other!

Cheers

To quote the paradoxical Spanish waiter - I know nothing.
