Is it possible to make a responsive website in Opus 9, a website that automatically fits on
phone, tablet, laptop etc.
Can't find anything about it on the help section.

Yes & No.

Opus HTML5 output does use scalable units and elements such as SVG and is implemented in the same way as traditional Pro publications IE Chapter > Properties > Resizing.

This allows pages to scale to fit a given maximum and minimum value with the option of maintaining ratio. I tested using our website (the link in the last post) and on the whole it worked well across most Android and desktop browsers.

However, as you don't have access to what is happening in the page rendering, the GUI might scale but the elements will remain constant meaning that you cannot, for example, have your menu switch from horizontal to vertical based on screen dimensions.

Personally, I think that being able to move things around is less of a concern than being able to reduce the amount of on screen elements or GUI accessibility for smaller screens. Our website scales down rather than up for use on phones and I find that it is usable enough on hand-held devices for our needs. I suppose if really necessary or better accessibility was needed then we could tap into the browser and access the screen size and redirect to a different page - but then that's not really responsive design

Perhaps over time, we'll see something like media query functionality appear in the Opus property dialogue that will allow greater control of individual elements.

In some cases, it would be nice if the menus would not only scales but would stand well-organized in a row.
But scaling is perfect for now.

I tend to produce each page as a final graphic to lock down the text and use fonts that are not available in HTML5, this will then resize perfectly for the web. as in http://www.brainbuddy.info This works well in Android as well.

A better example of a responsive design and locking all of the formatting down as a graphic and using text as a part of the artwork is http://www.fcradiology.com.au - you should have seen the mess it was as text in the html5 fonts on different devices.
