Opus: Opus Pro v9.75
OS: Windows 10.?
System: HP xw660 Server 32GB RAM, Toshiba Satellite Laptop
This is probably something very silly: I'm using Opus v9.52 (Evolution testing). I want the user to click buttons to control the video. I have attached a video to the page, set out a set of video control buttons at the bottom and these work fine. Autoplay is unticked. The problem I have is that when I click on the video it pauses, a double-click restarts the video. This unwanted behaviour repeats during the video. Is there any way to disable these actions?

Many thanks for any help you can offer.

Paul

Not sure I understand, but assuming this is a HTML5 project and the controls are the default browser video ones that are activated using the check box in Opus, then I don't believe there is a basic solution.

Thanks for the reply Mack. This is an Opus Pro project. It is one page with a video object on it. It loads one video with autostart unticked. Graphics buttons below control the start, stop, pause, goto start and goto end functions. When run, using f4, clicking on the video pauses it. Double-clicking on the video, not the buttons, starts it playing again. Is this supposed happen, or am I missing something? I just want to control the user's use of the video. Thanks for the help.

As this is a Pro project, then no, the video should only be controlled by the actions that you've added to the project.

Is it a clean build or have you copied it over from another project or been tinkering with it to make it work by trying different actions - I ask because Opus sometimes has this memory effect of things that were removed still happening - though that doesn't explain one machine having the problem.

I'd be inclined to create a new publication with that video and then test the problem building in each trigger at a time starting with the F4 play.

If it still doesn't help, I'll take a look if you want to upload it somewhere.

It was a clean build. I realised that the Opus version on my laptop is 9.51. The version I'm using on my desktop is v9.52(beta). I'll do the project again tomorrow to see if I get the same result.

It's me again...Attached is the clean Opus Pro (v9.6) file. The page contains:

- A title
- A video object with "autostart" unchecked
- 5 vector symbols with ''Left-Mouse" actions to play, pause, set to start and set to end actions
- a button to browse to a directory and browse for a file.

When the video is loaded the user should be able to sole use the vectors to control the video. The vectors work fine. However, if the video object is clicked, it pauses the video. A double-click restarts the video. I've only tried this on my desktop at present, but I'm uploading the file to see if anyone else has the same problem.

Thanks for the help.

Paul

No, works fine on several of our office machines.

Can you try changing the video type from 'on-top' to 'chroma key'.

Mack,

Yep, changing the video object from 'on top' to 'chroma key' worked fine. I wonder if it has something to do with the NVidia graphics card and software that I am using. Any it's solve now and I can get on with my project. Thanks again for your help.

Can't remember if it was ever confirmed, but my understanding is that on-top plays the videos using WMP overlay. As the office Windows 8.1 machine here has no additional video installs, I wonder whether you have installed a codec package or some other video software (like Nero) that is causing it not to act as expect.

I'm glad you solved the problem, and more glad that we're moving into a world of HTML5 with a universal video standard.

Yes, you have various MPEG4 codecs installed that aren't on our clean Windows 8.1 Machine. As I said before, you probably have either a video codec pack or some video based software installed that is causing the issues but as something else on the system may need it - it's probably best left alone.
