Hi, a simple question,

When I load a video I get a good sound volume and it works fine. However, when I load an MP3 file into a slide it is very quiet, even though I set it at 100%.

Any ideas.

Apologies for not sending the actual file, but it is some work I am preparing for a job.

Martin

I do not use audio files in what I do (yet), but can offer some things to look-at or try.

1 when you create the Play Sound Action, there should be showing additional Tabs for some optional settings.... like: Change Volume Action
Make sure you do not have settings there too low, or some animation-like Fade-out working against you.

2 as a test, try adding a Button or a slider to allow the User to change the volume at play time.

3 another test.... try a different Audio file. Try a different audio format.

4 Make sure you do not have some news-page active in a Browser which could take priority for playing media content.

5 Publish the Pub and test it on another PC/Computer.

BTW... if you are using a number of video files and audio files --- make sure previously viewed or listened files are Closed (or disabled) so they are not competing.

Best if you Edit your Forum Profile to provide some 'machine' information etc.

Also . . . is the mp3 file normalized? It may be that the mp3 is too quiet, as in low volume.

Use a audio editor (I like Sony Sound Forge Pro, but the free Audacity or Wavosaur will work as well) and 'Normalize' the audio, then re-save as
a 192khz, 44.1 16 bit mp3 file.

Then try it out - it may be the solution.
