One of the projects I need to do is create software that will utilize a life insurance calculator and put the results in a excel-like grid with formula/math capability.
It will also load and save data from and to a MySQL database. I will likely export to both HTML5 and Windows .exe.

Is this possible using Opus Pro?

I know it can work with MySQL because I have been following the MySQL tutorials on the site. It's the excel-like grid with formula/math that I am not sure of.

Possible??? Probably 'yes' for displaying a grid of rows & columns. It will not behave like Excel interface, but you can display data that way.

Several years ago I posted an example Opus Pub that manipulated a database. You can find it in the Tutorials section, or search: getting started sqlite

I used Opus' LISTBOX objects. Once you get a little practice, you can emulate the grid layout. A User probably cannot change cell widths or heights and such -- but can click on a cell, and so trigger Opus actions.

see the various Row/Column grids in the .imp Opus demo example.

Does the .imp rows and grids demo come with Opus Pro?

Where would I find it?

Mike

The "Getting Started" demo for SQLite & OpusPro is not produced by DW and is not part of their included Sample Publications.

>>>where would I find it?
At the time, the demo file was too large to simply upload on the Forum, so it was hosted for the community by Mackavi at Interactv's website. That link/page is now gone, so I am trying to find a way to upload a complete ZIP file --- I will upload it to the Thread below, when I can work-around the forum upload quota. I do not have a place to host it.

The original thread was here: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=3263&p=25996#p25996

Hi Lar,

The Joomla forum is long gone. I have started slowly moving some files across to a shared space, but not setup an interface for our site. But if you want somewhere to store the file that can be linked, then send me the latest copy to the address on our website and I'll have it hosted.

Thanks for chiming-in Mack. File is on its way.
Maybe best to post your hosting link over in the earlier SQLite thread.

Cheers,
Larry
