I've tried and tried but I don't understand the forward and back actions in a slide show.
Please will someone explain exactly what I should do?
Many thanks

Hey Mike.

The simplest explanation is that when a slideshow is playing, triggering a Back action or a Forward action will JUMP to the previous or next slide, and probably continue playing automatically from there. If you pause or stop a slideshow, backward/forward should act like a manual control moving one slide at a time (ignoring the duration interval set for the slides).

But I could be wrong. I know my brain does not work like that any longer. When I try to navigate back a few thoughts, it is as if they are not there, or maybe were not there in the first place.

Add 3 Buttons
add 1 action to each button:
backward
pause
forward

I like to put related objects in a container -- that is, a Frame.

Hi Larry
The helpfile suggests that I link the command to a file in the slide show.
Presently instead I'm just adding pages with back forward etc.
Regards

So you are good? It's working?

Are you talking about standard actions, or scripting? Which command?

I looked up standard actions in the helpfile.
This action is used to move to the previous or next frame in the slideshow.

Note:

If the slideshow is playing, (rather than paused or stopped), it will then continue from that frame in accordance with the timing of that frame.

Setting up the Backward One Slide action:

1. Add the Backward One Slide action to your trigger, as described in adding actions. The Backward one slide tab will automatically appear when you add the action.

2. Click on the name of the slideshow object in the slideshow object list that you want to use this action with.

3. Click on the Apply button to save your changes.

I can't get the programme to do what it says on the tin.
Regards

I would need to do a lot of guessing about what is and what is not happening. Right now I just have to assume your Slideshow object works in Preview, and shows the image files correctly. And that you tried creating a Button Object, a Mouseclick Trigger, and adding an Action for the backward navigation. And that you chose the name of the specific slideshow_object to apply this action to.

What I can suggest is that you open the Sample Publications that DW provided. Try the "Introducing HTML5......" pub, and Test/Preview the Slideshow and Buttons already set-up there (Chap 2, page for Features).

When that works you can then change the Slideshow object's Properties --- to point to your own folder containing images. Then Test/Preview that.

You know you can also copy objects from the Sample Pub into your working Pub. Or, better still just copy/paste the Triggers to your own Pub (this step will Paste both the Trigger and its Actions tree --- to a button or other object on your pages). You do need to make sure the actions point to the slideshow object you created).

If you are getting automatic Windows OS updates, you could try resetting the OpusPro program on its launch. Or uninstall and new install OpusPro.
