The attached program element works perfectly for my purposes, with one exception. When an image is clicked to dismiss it and reset the countdown time, the countdown time always displays one second less than the time set.

Any sugestions as to how I can make it show the correct time would be appreciated. I've spent some hours over the weekend adding a count of one at various places, fiddling around with for-next loops as an alternative - but getting nowhere fast as I could never get them to count down!

John

9 downloads - nobody with a solution?

It must be capable of solving, surely?

None of the posts from the old forum seem to have covered this problem. 'Break' seems to be usable command but I'm still struggling with how to implement it within the context of my imp file.

Hi,

Thank you for your enquiry.

The problem is the order of the Delay and Subtract actions in your countdown loop. Simply open the actions of each of your image object and swap around the Delay and Subtract actions so that the Subtract action occurs first.

Not only does this correct the timing of the publication (at the moment your users are actually getting 31 seconds to responds as the value 30 is displaying for one second), but it should prevent the countdown from continuing when the image is dismissed.

I hope this helps. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any further queries.

Kind regards,

Robin,

Thank you - yet again.

Changing the order of subtract and delay works. The logic totally escapes me though!

All the best.

John

I'm waiting for the day when a program language is created that responds to commands like 'create me a countdown clock'!

My guess is I'll be dead and buried long before that.
