Hi,

I have just upgraded to Opus 9.75 and at the same time upgraded to Windows 10.

I have several publications containing short videos. The publications almost run OK, but the videos always stall at the end. This is critical for me as I need to use the publications each week and I have to get it running properly for early next week.

Up until this upgrade the publications have always run impeccably, I really don't want to revert to Windows 8.1 if I can avoid it.

I notice that there is a support post to overwrite the Opus.js file, do I need to do this for version 9.75?

Any advice please? I do need these videos to run!

I am running Windows 10 on an MSI, intel III Xeon (8 processor), Intel HD Graphoics 4000, res 1929X1080 8Mb memory.

Kind regards

Martin

No, to the Opus.js overwrite. This IS for version 9.75 and is for adding to older publications to fix a Chrome issue with the handling of SVG in HTML5 publications.

As for the video, you have too many changes to work out what caused the problem. You need to switch Opus and Windows back to a known working state and introduce one change at a time.

Opus 9.75 does introduce additional video functions, Windows 10 introduce anew display model that other users have reported issue with under the 4000 chipset and by changing OS, you might have inadvertently changed video codecs - so you need to narrow it down.

Also, you don't mention anything about the publication type or video format / encoding.

Many thanks Mack,

I installed Opus 9.75 under windows 8.1 and tested that it ran properly, before upgrading to Windows 10.

I am running the program on the preview option as, I often need to make changes immediately before or even during the presentation. Also, in the past I have had trouble with video included in the publication.

The video is MP4.

When I close the program it says that:
"The program was started in compatibility mode.
As this can lead to undesirable effects, you should disable the compatibility settings. Do you want to run the application anyway?"
. I do not know how to disable compatibility settings.

Also, when I close Opus, on re-opening I get a message that says the publication is running in another window and I can only open the file for editing. Problem is I cannot find a running Opus file (checked in Task Manager - not there!).

I am not sure how to download and install codecs.

I notice that I am running Opus as 32-bit, is there a 64-bit version?

Many thanks for your patience, kind regards

Martin

1. Compatibility settings can be found by right clicking on the Opus shortcut and selecting properties.

2. I didn't think that MP4 will play under Opus Pro unless a third-party codec was installed? Do you have something like Nero or QuickTime?

3. MP4 can encode at a higher / advanced level - I've always found Opus Pro struggles with these types of files.

4. No there isn't a 64bit version - shouldn't matter.

I'd be inclined to see what happens if you use WMV files instead of MP4.

THanks Mack,

I have Nero 2015 installed so can change video format quite easily.

The reason I used MP4 was that I found AVI files ran easily, but poor quality after I had changed format in Nero, then I tried MP4 again and it began working fine - until Windows 10 :( so I kept running MP4 with no problems

I will try converting to WMV. EDIT - Seems to be working just fine thank you,

Thank you
