I've been working with a few teachers creating resources in Opus for teaching Welsh as a second language to primary school children through an Interactive Whiteboard.

Opus with it's AutoNarrate is just perfect for this, except...

No ^'s on Y's and W's are supported.

I can do it in MS Word with the Extended Latin-A character set. I can do it in HTML with Unicode. I can't do it at all in Opus which is a shame.

I know I can fudge it by creating the tobachs separately, arranging them over the text and then rendering it, but it does make editing a bit of a nuisance.

Anything on the horizon?

You could achieve this by installing a dedicated Welsh font type which includes characters with tobachs.

The following web site offers a free font pack containing two such fonts, Sophia and Doulos (which are similar in style to Arial and Times New Roman). Simply install these fonts into the Windows fonts directory (C:\Windows\Fonts).

To import one of the tobach characters into your publication, simply click QuickBuild > Text > Insert Characters and select the accented W or Y character as required.

Ah, hadn't thought of using embedded fonts. That works nicely thanks.
