Some type of data-grid or a data browser for databases will be a very nice component as an additional object on the toolbox. Especially if actions can be assigned based on records been selected or accepted. Flash support for databases, and an FTP Object with put and get will be nice as well.

Nice idea. I will ensure that this is looked into for a future update.

An Opus Flex publication can communicate with a database through the use of Post Web Data actions and PHP/ASP scripts, which I believe is the same method used by Flash files produced in the full-blown Macromedia Flash MX editor.

I will be adding a number of new FAQ articles in the next couple of days to describe how to insert, update and retrieve records from a database using PHP script and how these techniques can be combined to create a typical login screen.

I agree. This is currently possible by using Write to Disk File actions to create a series of FTP commands in a batch file, then launching the batch file, although this approach is rather unwieldy. We will look into the possibility of adding a dedicated FTP action in a future update.

Many thanks,
