When burning a multimedia CD this evening, Nero wanted to rename some of my launched doc files as the names weren't Joliet compliant.

I didn't see an answer in a hasty scan of the Nero help file.... can someone tell me what the maximum character length allowed is?

And, other than painstakingly counting, is there an easy way to count the characters?

Sorry for all the simple questions... an easy job snowballed into a big project with no allocated production time... so I'm trying to complete it in my sleep!
