Hi well i bought a copy of illuminatus opus and happily went allong till i came across a bit in the index that said.. this is a try before you buy version that will stop working after 60 days and any publication made with it.
I then bought another copy and when i checked the index under register or pay, and i found the same statement. The cd says its illuminatus opus and says nothing like the program is try..etc. The only other bit on the cd is 'if you want to upgrade to opus pro phone...'
Have i been ripped off or what?

Did you buy it from a legitimate source or from one of those dodgy software stalls at a computer fair? They often repackage freely downloadable (but time limited) trial software and try to sell it to the unsuspecting as the full package.

I bought the disc from a cheap source but the disk was origional and was definately not a copy. I ended up getting a second one from another person and the same problem appeared, i automatically looked up the index to check it had not happened again.
There is a possibility that the 'evaluation try before you buy' bit in the index search is simply in reference to the evaluation software and does not actually refer to the version i have... I'm saying that in the hope that the help section is the same whether in an evaluation copy or a proper copy and i'm jumping to conclusions?
If that's the real case then if you or anyone else looks up evaluation software in thier help section then it would say the same thing and i am worrying for nothing?
could you be so good as to have a look at your copy? if opus is what you use? I had been writing something for my daughter for her to see when she grows up, then when i inadvertantly found that in the index all worked stopped, what was the point if the publication would stop working long before she was able to see it?

Hi

Checking to see if your copy is an evaluation or full is easy.
Drop down the Help menu and click on "About Opus"
Click on the System information tab and look at the Build type
this will either say "Evaluation" or "Release"
if it says release, then you have a retail copy.
