I just upgraded to ProXE 4.5 and so far so good, but one thing has changed that I would like to know if there is a work around or solution I am not seeing.

In the previous versions, when creating a hypertext link from a text selection, you could go in and modify the colors and appearance of the presets, but the text would stay whatever font you had originally used. Now, when I create a hypertext link, the font is changed to whatever the preset says it should be (Times as the default). You can change that when you modify the presets, but then you are stuck with that font.

Can the hypertext attributes be set to use what the original font is just like the shadow and background have an "as is" choice?

Hi Tom,

Thank you for your enquiry.

I'm afraid that I have been unable to replicate this behaviour. I pasted a string of sample text into a text object, set the font to 10 point Verdana, then selected part of the text and set it to hypertext. The resulting text took on the default Green Underline style, but the font stayed as 10 point Verdana.

I therefore suspect that there may a glitch in your current installation and would recommend trying the following procedure to see if this resolves the problem:

- Ensure that Opus is not running

- Click Start > Programs to open the program group

- You should now be able to see an entry for Illuminatus Opus, Illuminatus Opus Pro, Opus Pro XE, Opus Pro 04 or Opus Pro XE 04, depending on which version of Opus Pro you have installed. Please click on the relevant entry to display its submenu

- Position the cursor over the Opus application shortcut as if you were going to launch the program, but do not click on the shortcut

- Position two fingers over the Ctrl and Alt keys in the bottom-left of the keyboard

- Left-click on the application shortcut to launch the program, then immediately depress the Ctrl and Alt keys simultaneously and keep them depressed

- A prompt should appear on-screen asking if you wish to clear the application registry settings. Click Yes

Now load in your publication and try to reproduce the issues you previously experienced.

Please let me know how things progress.

Kind regards,
