Hi

I have written an application in Opus Pro which interacts with a mySql database and everything works fine on my test machine. The problem is I don't know which mySql files need to be distributed with the application when installed on another computer.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi,

Thank you for your enquiry.

You will need to ensure that the MyODBC Connector driver is installed on the end-user's machine for the publication to be able to communicate with the database.

You may therefore want to include the MyODBC installer (available from http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/connector/odbc/3.51.html) on your publication CD and add a Launch File action to a button somewhere near the start of the publication which launches this file and installs the driver before the database is accessed.

Kind regards,

Hi Robin

Thanks for your prompt response. Is there any way to install the neccesary files silently without using MyODBC-3.51.11-1-win.exe

The problem is that end user would have to know which options to select, as an installation wizard appears when the MyODBC-3.51.11-1-win.exe file is run. Ideally I would want the files installed without the users intervention.

Regards
