When I'm setting up a slideshow and I've got 40 images listed, I'd like the ability to see thumbnails of these images whilst I decide in which order they should be played.

You could have a small Preview window, then when you highlighted an Image, it would appear in the window.

Let me put in another "plug" for numbering the Images in a Slideshow. If Linda wants to move Image 17 and 19, for example, she has to try to count to the correct Images, and move them -- almost by guessing. If we can't get a Preview, please at least give us numbers (1,2,3, etc.) on the left side for each Image.

The problem with having a preview is simply one of space - there is literally nowhere left on that dialog to fit one (and it can't be made bigger without resizing every other property page - no small task!).
Regarding numbering; you'll be very interested in Opus 05 , coming soon...

Duncan --

I can personally appreciate the frustration when someone has a last minute "idea" which would increase the size of the total presentation, so I'm not voting for that. What about a Pop Up window? Highlight the desired Image, right mouse click and have an option to Preview a thumbnail version of the image. The purpose is merely to allow the correct ordering of the images, so you don't have to have a Full Screen version of the image.

Glad to hear I'm going to "like" OPUS 05. Did you know that this year, May 5, 2005 can be written: 05/05/05? :D

Is that the sound of a cat being let out of a bag !? Guess we'll have to let everyone in on the secret....

As you've probably guessed we're releasing the new 05 versions of Opus Pro and Opus Pro XE next Thursday and amongst the 200 or so tweaks, enhancements and improvements the major new features are DVD-Video authoring, text animations and layers with onionskin view plus new, semi-transparent borders and lots more QuickBuild functions. I'll be putting up full details of new features and upgrade costs and processes shortly but for the most part we're keeping all our prices where they are.

Oh, your timing is so good... I'm starting a new multimedia project on Monday week for a big courier company.

Text animation is just what I need....

Meanwhile, I'm doing a presentation for OUR company this week, as the salesman was jealous of the presentations we were making for other companies he wanted one for himself.... so you're telling me it'll be out of date before I ever finish it?!

And here I just went and upgraded to XE 4.5 a month ago. Probably outside of the range for an automatic upgrade to 5?

Same here -- upgraded to XE 4.5 last month -- It would have been good if we were told 05 was going to be released soon when we purchased the upgrade.

cheers
Paul

This is one of my personal bugbears too (it happened to me with the first piece of application software I ever bought - I think it was a word processor for the Sinclair Spectrum!) So its always been our policy to provide free upgrades to recent purchasers.

Anyone who has bought 04 in the last 60 days will get a free upgrade. It should be sent to you automatically next week but if you want to pester sales to make sure you are at the top of the list, email them your name and postcode and when you bought 04.

Probably famous last words but... transferring publications from 04 to 05 should be pretty seamless. We've been doing it here for several months. So you might be able to add a little extra panache and even publish to DVD if you want without breaking stride :-)

Will demo versions be available at the same time, Paul?

Yes - a 30-day evaluation version of Opus Pro 05 will be made available via the website on the day of release.

Kind regards,
