Hi, is me again!
This pub needs to run on an intranet environment, therefore, at the time of publishing I have to give details (a path) on where is this plugin located in the server for people seeing the publication.
Ok, could you tell me then what is the plugin name and where I can get it from? Is this the OPus_iO_setup.exe? or it is a file inside the folder where this plugin was installed. I have noticed that when you execute this file, it create a folder called IO Opus Player with the following path:

c:\Program Files\Common Files\Digital Workshop\IO Opus Player\

Is this the path that I have to produce during the process of publishing?

Thank you for your constant help. ( I am using Opus Pro XE 4.0)

Hi,

Thank you for your enquiry.

You will need to download the following 20 plug-in data files from our web server and save these to the folder you have specified as the location of the plug-in on the network:

http://www.digitalworkshop.com/OpusPlug ... mation.ilf
http://www.digitalworkshop.com/OpusPlugins/DWApp.ilf
http://www.digitalworkshop.com/OpusPlugins/DWDraw.ilf
http://www.digitalworkshop.com/OpusPlug ... SVideo.ilf
http://www.digitalworkshop.com/OpusPlug ... fxLib2.ilf
http://www.digitalworkshop.com/OpusPlug ... Object.ilf
http://www.digitalworkshop.com/OpusPlugins/DWInput.ilf
http://www.digitalworkshop.com/OpusPlug ... cktime.ilf
http://www.digitalworkshop.com/OpusPlugins/DWText.ilf
http://www.digitalworkshop.com/OpusPlug ... sition.ilf
http://www.digitalworkshop.com/OpusPlugins/DWUninst.ilf
http://www.digitalworkshop.com/OpusPlugins/DWVector.ilf
http://www.digitalworkshop.com/OpusPlugins/ilm500.cab
http://www.digitalworkshop.com/OpusPlugins/ILMOle.ilf
http://www.digitalworkshop.com/OpusPlugins/ilmplay.ilf
http://www.digitalworkshop.com/OpusPlugins/ilmplay2.ilf
http://www.digitalworkshop.com/OpusPlugins/ILMSrch.ilf
http://www.digitalworkshop.com/OpusPlugins/NPILM500.xpi
http://www.digitalworkshop.com/OpusPlug ... _Setup.exe
http://www.digitalworkshop.com/OpusPlugins/Plugins.ini

Your publication should now download and install the plug-in across the network without further problems.

Kind regards,

Hi Robin,
Thank you for your great help!
This is absolutely awesome customer service!
Two things...

1-The following link out of all the links does not work
http://www.digitalworkshop.com/OpusPlugins/NPILM500.xpi

2-To which file my path should point to

3-Netscape users (Mozilla Firefox) can't see the pub. Is this only IE Compatible?

Regards
German

I will ask our webmaster to look into this. However, the NPILM500.xpi is an outdated Netscape plug-in which is not compatible with the latest version of the Netscape, Opera or Firefox browsers and its absence will not affect the plug-in installation.

You do not need to specify a specific file, simply the path which contains these plug-in files, so if you have saved all of these plug-in files to X:\Shared\Plugins, type this path into the 'Plugin Path' field when publishing.

Unfortunately, since AOL dropped support for the Netscape browser, the Netscape iO plug-in has not been updated. However, due to the increasing popularity of alternative browsers, such as Opera and Firefox, we are pleased to confirm that the next update to the Opus iO-plugin will work with browsers that utilise Netscape plugins.

I hope this helps. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any further queries.

Kind regards,

The .xpi file is nothing to do with it, so ignore that one.

The plugin will work in Firefox, but you'll need to manually run the OpusIOSetup.exe file on the machine. There's no automated way of installing the plugin for Firefox.

Do you mean the client needs to manually go to the folder of the plugins and double click on the iO setup?
But this is on a intranet so clients would not have admon rights?
What can be done?

Yep. If the clients don't have rights to install it, then an administrator will have to make sure it's on the machines first.

Hi, is there any plan to correct this issue since here in Australia a lot of corporate companies use an alternative browser to IE for security purposes.
In this particular company, they have upgraded to Firefox so it will be a disavantage for such a great program like Opus Pro XE 4.0 not to be able to accomodate customers using other browser than IE.
Just a thought

We've looked into it, but so far haven't managed to find out anything useful on how to automatically install the plugin in Firefox. There is some kind of automated system in there, but there's no info on how it works or how to use it, so we've drawn a blank for the meantime. We will keep looking.

Dave
