Open your Illuminatus software, and go to HELP on the top menu line of the screen. Select "About Illuminatus" and then click the tab for System Information; this will show you the version of the software you have.
I believe 2002B is now many versions back from where everyone else is today. I'd first suggest you will get much more from this product if you have the latest version. There are many new features which will make your presentations much more interesting and more valuable.
MOV is a Quicktime movie format. Quicktime (.MOV) requires Quicktime to be installed. You might use Windows Explorer and double click on a MOV file to see if your computer will be able to play it in the first place.
I'm not sure when OPUS started offering MOV as a file type it can handle. My Illuminatus OPUS 2.81 says it will play MOV movies. I'm not sure about 2002B.
Next, what about your computer? If your software is that far back from the current release (OPUS 05), I'm going to guess you've got a P2 or P3 with under 128MB RAM. Movies in any format require fast processors, lots of RAM memory, and a high speed (16x+) CD drive (for playback).
All my presentations use MPEG-1 (MPG) movies. I've also used MPEG-2 (DVD) movies, with the warning to viewers that they need to be able to play DVDs on their computer to view my movie.
I used the new QuickTime VR OPUS feature on the last Publication. It used an MOV file which allowed the viewer to interactively pan/zoom an image. From the final replicated CD-ROM, it requires several seconds to view, which probably is the QuickTime viewer loading. MPEG movies are instantaneous.
I hope this gives you some ideas to check. If you are a serious multimedia producer, you will first want to upgrade your software. You won't believe what you are missing!
